The Camino Auzerabide is a 7.04-kilometer circular hiking trail with a low difficulty level and 144 meters of elevation gain. The trail starts at the car park next to the town hall of the Ultzama Valley in Larraintzar. Its route passes through oak and beech forests, meadows and small villages with traditional houses.

Traditions in the Valley

The Día del Hongo in Ultzama is referred to as the 14th edition; it is announced for 11 October 2026 in Larraintzar. This edition includes a mushroom exhibition, tastings, craft stalls, a basket-weaving demonstration, rural sports and a raffle.

At Día del Hongo, the valley offers ecological talos with mushrooms as well as mushroom pintxos prepared by bars and restaurants in the valley.
