Culture and History

The parish church of El Gejo de los Reyes is dedicated to Saint Blaise. El Gejo de los Reyes preserves a parish church built from dressed ashlar stones, with a bell gable and an entrance portal. Those approaching the village through its architectural heritage can perceive the dedication and the clearly identified architectural elements separately.

El Gejo de los Reyes also has a museum that illustrates rural life in the villages during the 20th century through numerous rooms and hundreds of objects. Landscape and Trails

The “Senderos del Bajo Tormes” trail network runs through El Gejo de los Reyes. In the wider regional surroundings of El Gejo de los Reyes, Barrocal is a mountain, as is Cabeço da Botaca; Teso Santo is a hill there. During the first decades of the 20th century, the El Gejo mine produced numerous smoky quartz geodes, which were mainly used for ornamental purposes.
