Cornalvo Natural Park in the Municipality

An older portal is on the Epistle side; the sacristy has a Gothic window with a donkey-back arch, now bricked up. The church’s movable cultural heritage also has historical and artistic value.

Its façade bears a striking coat of arms featuring a crowned eagle of the Vera family from Mérida. The motto on the coat of arms is “Véritas Vinci”. The hermitage of San Roque complements these architectural landmarks as a simple 16th-century building. A circular route on the Ruta Vía de la Plata starts in Mirandilla, passes over the Sierra Bermeja to the Roman reservoir of Cornalvo, and then continues through the natural park.
