Beget: Romanesque Art, Nature and Holiday Apartments

The historic ensemble of Beget is designated as a Bé Cultural d’Interès Nacional (BCIN) in the “Conjunt Històric” category. The Sant Cristòfol de Beget church preserves a Romanesque altarpiece of Majesty dating from the 12th to the 13th century.

The historic appearance of the village therefore includes both the ensemble’s classification as a “Conjunt Històric” and the altarpiece preserved in Sant Cristòfol. Culture

The village centre of Beget consists of three sectors or neighbourhoods. Two streams separate these areas, while two bridges connect them.

The Sant Valentí de Salarça church is also known as Sant Valentí de Salarsa. It is located in the hamlet of Salarça, which belongs to Beget. Administratively, the church lies within the municipality of Camprodon in Ripollès. It is protected as a cultural asset of local interest. Geographically, it belongs to the natural subregion of Alta Garrotxa.

Visiting Hours

The visiting hours for the Sant Cristòfol de Beget church are Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00. A morning visit is therefore possible until 13:00; in the afternoon, the church opens again at 16:00.

Different hours apply from Saint John’s Day to 15 September. During this period, the church is open from 11:00 to 14:00 in the morning and from 16:00 to 19:00 in the afternoon.

Under both opening-hour schedules, access remains divided into a morning and an afternoon period.
