On the way to Beamud, the Celtiberian oppidum of Los Casares is located 1.5 km away. Los Casares is considered one of the most extensive Celtiberian oppida in the province. The stone courses of the building foundations and a defensive wall with its entrances can be identified there.

Nature and Water

La Balsa is located 200 meters from a karst spring. During certain seasons, water emerges there, forms cascades and a tufa formation, and eventually flows into the Río Guadazaón.

At La Balsa, you should enter neither the flooded areas nor the tufa surfaces. La Balsa is accessible by car; there are benches and a small structure that can be used for eating and resting.

Townscape and Tradition

The traditional architecture of Valdemoro-Sierra includes masonry buildings and streets adapted to the terrain. The most important historic building in Valdemoro-Sierra is the parish church Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.

Local celebrations center on the festival of the Virgen de la Asunción on August 15.
