Palomera: Hiking Trails, Natural Swimming Spots and Culture

Palomera is the starting point for the PR-CU 35 Sendero de Los Ceños, a 15.20-kilometre linear hiking trail of moderate difficulty. From Palomera, it follows the right bank of the Río Huécar to its source area near El Bodegón. Further along, the trail passes through a pine forest and by the Refugio de la Dehesilla.

Hiking

The PR-CU 36 Sendero de la Hoz del Huécar is a 7.70-kilometre circular hiking trail of low difficulty. It begins in Palomera and runs across the upper section of the cliffs that border the gorge. The route also includes the Senda Botánica “Huerta de Las Parras”. Warnings of possible flooding apply to the PR-CU 36 during periods of heavy rainfall.

The two routes can be compared in terms of length, course and stated level of difficulty. A linear route and a circular hike offer different ways of planning, without either having to be considered better. For your own travel planning, you can consider these features separately.
