Along the numerous watercourses of Vega de Pas, mixed riparian forests of alders, ash trees, oaks and willows extend. The headwater streams of the River Pas converge in Vega de Pas. The Pradería de Ruyemas is a five-kilometre hiking trail along one of the headwater streams of the River Pas, the Pandillo; it leads through a mixed deciduous forest to the hut area of Ruyemas. For planning your day, the trail length, connection to the watercourse, forest section and destination can be considered separately.
When comparing a holiday apartment in Vega de Pas, you can check the travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions as separate details on the respective listing pages. The choice of location and these listing details answer different questions in travel planning.
Nature and Trails
The PR-S75 Riberas del Yera y Ajan route is fully signposted and includes gallery-like alder and willow forests. It passes through the square of Vega de Pas. Corcus, a group of four interconnected huts, lies along this route. The GR-74 Corredor Oriental has a stop in Vega de Pas. Different routes, landscape sections and historical references provide various points of orientation for your planning, without the trails necessarily describing the same experience.
From Vega de Pas, the district of Portilla can be reached by car. Thus, in addition to the hiking routes described, local connections involving different means of transport are also presented side by side.
Culture and History
Pasiego huts in Vega de Pas are buildings made of stone and masonry with slate or stone-slab roofs, associated with mobile livestock farming. The Museo Etnográfico de las Villas Pasiegas displays everyday objects, tools, jugs and paneras from the traditional life of the Pasiegos. It also presents the customs of Vega de Pas, San Roque de Riomiera and San Pedro del Romeral and recreates almost completely the conditions of a two-storey Pasiego hut. The museum, hut type and landscape therefore belong to different levels of consideration within the same local culture.
The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Vega has three Gothic rib-vaults inside. Its origins date back to 1697. On the former railway line, after passing through three tunnels, you reach the former passenger station of Yera. The La Engaña Tunnel is considered the most significant structure of the former railway line in the Yera area. The information about the church, railway line and hut buildings offers different historical perspectives that can be classified separately when planning.

The two references distinguish between local food production and the specifically named producer.
