Village center

Plaza is one of the historic village centers of the anteiglesias. Within this group, the village is considered one of the most valuable ensembles. The lower part of Plaza is arranged around the square. A probadero is located on the Plaza in Zeanuri. It is a traditional bull-testing arena.

Trails and landscape

The ARR09 route is called Areatza–Zeanuri. It reaches Plaza in Zeanuri. The ARR10 route passes through part of the built-up area of Plaza. It starts in Plaza and follows the Arratia River.

Zeanuri is located in Gorbeia Nature Park. Gorbeia is an exceptional natural area. This natural area includes a rich landscape and diverse fauna.

Architectural heritage and history

The Emaldi farmhouse is located on the Plaza in Zeanuri. It is a particularly valuable building. Its design includes timber and exposed brickwork, as well as a few small openings. The roof overhang is wide and supported by corbels.

The Ermita de San Isidro was built in the second half of the 19th century. It was constructed as a temporary replacement for Santa María. Santa María was in poor condition at the time. The Ermita de San Isidro is located between the Arratia River and a road. This road leads from the north to the village center of Zeanuri. The hermitage is aligned with this road.

The present-day Ermita de San Antonio de Zubiate was built in 1931. It replaced an earlier building. This earlier building dates from the 17th century. The Ermita de San Antonio de Zubiate forms part of the boundary wall of Casa Zubiate.
