Chapel, bridge and Neo-Gothic cross

At the Font de Pina, a chapel protects the water source. The Convent de les Franciscanes Filles de la Misericòrdia consists of two buildings separated by a street and connected by a small bridge. The separate structures and their connection by the bridge form a distinctive architectural arrangement.

At the entrance to the town, on Carrer de Sineu, stands the Neo-Gothic Creu de Pina. It was designated a Bé d'Interès Cultural (BIC) in 1963. Pina thus brings together different strands of architectural and cultural history: the chapel at the spring, the convent's unusual connection between buildings, and a historically designated cross at the town entrance.

Market, festivities and facilities in town

According to a municipal announcement, Pina gained a children's playground and an outdoor fitness park in April 2025. Both are a different kind of local amenity from the markets and festivities tied to particular dates in the calendar. A look at the 2025 Fira de Pina

An all-day programme was planned for the XI Fira de Pina on 6 September 2025. It included stalls selling crafts, food and local products, as well as a classic car exhibition on Carrer Major. Bouncy castles for all age groups were planned for Carrer de sa Font.

Later in the day, the programme included a gathering of Xeremier groups in the square at 17:00. A free guided tour of the church with Xavier Riutort was scheduled for 17:15. For that edition, registration was to be made at the Casa de la Vila or by calling 971 12 53 35. At 18:30, a free family show by Banton Circus featuring juggling and balancing acts was announced; at 19:00, “Espacio creativo Magdalena” was due to offer a free children's workshop in the square. In the wider destination of Algaida, the Gordiola Museum houses a collection of glass from around the world and machines more than a hundred years old that demonstrate traditional techniques. The Cossiers d'Algaida are also part of the local festival traditions: they perform on certain occasions at the winter festivities of Sant Honorat and the summer festivities of Sant Jaume. The group consists of six Cossiers, the Dama and the Dimoni; their dances are usually accompanied by the Flabiol and Tamborí.

Other cultural landmarks in Algaida include the parish church, dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul, with pointed arches and a ribbed vault. Its nave was built in the 16th and 17th centuries. Algaida also has 17 surviving windmills, all of which are privately owned. With the exception of the Molí de sa Talaieta, they have a base that was formerly used as living quarters and storage space.
