From Playa de Anguileiro / La Grande / Campos, a promenade runs along the coast towards the fishing port of Tapia. As part of the ZEPA and ZEC designations, the beach belongs to the European Natura 2000 network of protected areas. Playa Penarronda is designated a natural monument.

Culture and History

The present-day port of Tapia de Casariego was built between 1870 and 1880. Faro de Tapia is the only lighthouse in the region located on an island. At the same time, it is one of the nine Asturian lighthouses listed in the Spanish catalogue of lighthouses of special cultural heritage interest.

The “Los Señores de las Casas Palacio” Museum offers an immersive experience on its tour, featuring modern lighting, visual and sound technology. The Puerta de Entrada de Tapia is one of the most important entrances to the Parque Histórico del Navia.

The Lagos de Silva, also known as Lagunas de Salave, were formed from mining remains. These areas are biologically valuable wetlands and are among the few wetlands in Asturias. The sanctuary is a pilgrimage site and already appears in an inventory drawn up in 1385–1386 at the order of the Bishop of Oviedo, Gutierre de Toledo.
