Naves: Coast, Culture and Holiday Apartments
Accommodation in Naves
Playa de San Antolín is 1,200 metres long and has white sand. It lies at the mouth of the Bedón River and is used by surfers.
Coast and Surroundings
From the A8 motorway, Playa de San Antolín can be reached via the exit near Naves and then by road. There is a large car park at the beach next to a viewpoint.
Gulpiyuri, a cove accessible only on foot, lies in the immediate vicinity of Naves. It was declared a natural monument because of its beauty and special geological features.
Romanesque Architecture and Local History
The surviving church of San Antolín de Bedón is Romanesque in style; construction began at the start of the 13th century. It has three naves and a chancel ending in three semicircular apses. In 1931, it was declared a historical-artistic monument; since 1985, it has automatically been a Bien de Interés Cultural. The monastery of San Antolín de Bedón is already mentioned in documents from the 12th century. Naves also has notable examples of Indianos architecture.
Routes
The stage of the Camino de la Costa from Llanes to Ribadesella leads to the monastery of San Antolín de Bedón and then continues through Naves and Villahormes.
The individual points of interest can deliberately be considered side by side in Naves. Playa de San Antolín, San Antolín de Bedón, the Camino section and the Fiesta de Santa Ana relate to different ways of looking at the locality.
They allow for different daily preferences to be placed side by side: nature, culture, walking and festival culture each call for a different kind of attention. The order remains open; one focus can be considered just as easily as a combination of several themes for trip planning.
To determine your personal priorities, you can first decide whether the focus should be on nature, culture, physical activity or a fixed event date. The remaining topics can then be read as additions, without prescribing a particular order. This open approach to priorities keeps the planning closely aligned with your own interests.
When choosing a holiday apartment in Naves, the accommodation pages allow you to consider travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions side by side. These details are part of your personal planning; the coast, San Antolín de Bedón, the Camino and the Fiesta remain independent topics, each offering its own perspective for exploring Naves.
