Discover Libardón: Architecture, Music and Festivals

Libardón has a predominantly semi-urban architectural character, with mostly large buildings standing scattered throughout the area. They often have three storeys as well as glazed galleries or solanas. Lliberdón features architecture in the style of returning emigrants. From the road leading from Carrandi, Libardón appears to be a village situated on a slope. The view of the architectural forms and the view from Carrandi provide different points of reference for orienting yourself in the area.

Thanks to his innate musical abilities, Ramón García Tuero travelled to several continents and came into contact with figures from royal families, politics and the arts.

Cycling

The RUTA BICI 03 “Colunga - Anayo - San Feliz - Llastres - Colunga” is a 62-kilometre, easy road-cycling route. The route reaches Libardón and there joins the AS-258, via which the Altu la Llama is climbed. The AS-258 leads from Alto de La Llama via Villamayor into the municipality of Colunga and runs from north to south through the Lliberdón valley. A long road-cycling route and a defined road alignment provide different scales for planning activities and exploring the area.

Festivals

According to the festival calendar, the Fiestas de San Roque take place in Lliberdón in August. They include the Certamen de Gaita Asturiana “Premio Gaitero de Libardón”. The programme also includes a descent with traditional carts, children’s games, a verbena and a ten-pin bowling competition.
