The lithic materials from La Llada correspond typologically to patterns of the Middle Palaeolithic.

During accompanying archaeological investigations of the coastal path, Alicia García Fernández discovered a further 41 Upper Palaeolithic pieces in 1996.

Castro de El Escayu is a small remnant of the coastal terrace that rises above the sea to the north, is surrounded by water to the north and east, and occupies a clearly defensive position at the entrance to the bay of Santa María del Mar.

The archaeological traces thus range from typologically classified lithic materials to a dated assemblage of finds and a prominently situated castro.
