Culture

The Castillo includes largely preserved sections of wall as well as the remains of a former Romanesque church. The church belonging to the Castillo is known locally as “la Atalaya” and stands on a hill overlooking the entire valley.

The Iglesia de Santa Ana has a floor plan in the shape of a Latin cross and a straight-ended chancel facing east. The Museo de Alfarería Tradicional Aragonesa is permanently housed in the Iglesia de Santa Ana de Morillo de Tou and displays a collection donated by Emilio Manrique Persiva and Ana Rosa Abadía Valle in 2001.

Since 2004, the Jornadas de Alfarería y Cerámica have been held annually in Morillo de Tou.

Trails and landscape

The signposted BTT 09 “Entorno de Bruello” mountain-bike circular route leads from Morillo de Tou via the Cruceta de Bruello and Bruello back to Morillo de Tou.

The circular trail to Cerro de Cotón starts at Camping Morillo de Tou, is 5.5 km long, takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, and has 230 m of positive elevation gain.

The circular trail to Cerro de Cotón is a hike of moderate difficulty with views of the Embalse de Mediano and the historic Torre de Tou.

Different planning factors are relevant when organising the day: the activity, time frame, elevation gain and type of outing.

Another circular trail leads from Morillo de Tou towards the reservoir and on to Coscojuela; it is considered easily accessible and suitable for a relaxing family outing.
