Access by motorised vehicle is possible via a small drivable service road that branches off from the road between Alcázar and Alcauca. From the Pedro Aguilar viewpoint, you can see the La Viñuela reservoir and the Mediterranean Sea.

Hiking

The Alcázar-La Maroma hiking trail begins at the Cortijo del Alcázar recreational area. From Alcaucín, it can be reached via the Camino del Alcázar after approximately six kilometres. The trail is linear and leads to La Maroma, which is 2,068 metres high. The one-way distance is listed as 10,523 metres. The hiking trail is rated difficult to very difficult, with a stated duration of 8:30 hours.

Local tradition

The Fiesta de la Castaña preserves an old All Saints’ tradition in Alcaucín. Traditionally harvested in the region, chestnuts play a role on this occasion.
