The historic ensemble of Valdelarco is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural in the category Conjunto Histórico. Traditional buildings, terraces and solanas are particularly concentrated within this ensemble and have been preserved in a distinctive form. The historic architecture includes the Iglesia parroquial del Divino Salvador del Mundo, a Baroque church built between 1724 and 1728.

The municipality of Valdelarco lies in the Parque Natural de Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche. A natural spring is La Fuente de las Alberquillas, located about 300 metres from Valdelarco. It is surrounded by numerous water basins in which water is collected for irrigated farming.

The El Talenque–Valdelarco route is linear, has a low difficulty level, is 2,978 metres long and takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Following part of a historic path between Navahermosa and Valdelarco, it passes through the narrow valley of a mountain stream. The trail from Valdelarco to Galaroza begins in the village on the Camino de la Garganta.

The trail from Valdelarco to Navahermosa follows the Navahermosa stream through a dense riparian forest and reaches the Casas de Talenque recreational area. The path to La Fuente de las Alberquillas also begins on Calle Estrado in the direction of Navahermosa, passes through a dense riparian forest and ends in the Talenque area.
