Los Naveros – Archaeology, Hiking Trails and Local Festivals

Los Banquetillos is a necropolis carved into the rock, with anthropomorphic graves of different sizes for children and adults. The necropolis is provisionally attributed to the Hispano-Visigothic period between the 6th and 8th centuries AD. A statue of the Virgin Mary and a statue of Saint Thomas Aquinas were created by the Cádiz-born sculptor Luis González Rey. A crucifix comes from Cuervo Monastery.

The Running Garbanzos de Naveros consists of two laps of 3.75 kilometres each and has a total route length of 7.5 kilometres. 800 metres are on asphalt, while the rest runs along paths and tracks of medium difficulty. For planning purposes, the looped run and the hiking trail can be considered separately; the distance, surface and difficulty provide different points of comparison.

Festivals and Flavours

Local festival culture also takes several forms. The Fiesta de la Cruz de Mayo in Los Naveros is a traditional local celebration listed for both 2025 and 2026. At an event in Los Naveros, Callos con Garbanzos de Naveros is sampled. Following a mass, a procession takes place through the streets.
