Stari Trg pri Ložu can be explored through its distinctive buildings and technical monuments. The parish church of St George has a Romanesque three-nave layout, was remodelled in the Baroque style in the mid-18th century and was first mentioned in writing in 1221. As a pilgrimage church, it brings together several historical layers: during major alterations around 1761, vaults were added to the church naves; old frescoes from this period of reconstruction have been preserved and extend across the entire attic wall. When viewing the building, you can read architecture, painting and military history as different ways of approaching the history of the area. The freestanding bell tower served as a fortress during the Ottoman incursions.

Another distinctive feature is formed by two brick wells dating from the late 19th century. They have a counterweighted rocking mechanism, are the only ones of their kind in Slovenia and represent an exceptional example of technical cultural heritage. The wells thus provide a different focus from the parish church: the emphasis is on their preserved operating principle. One of the brick wells stands on the main road at the entrance to Stari Trg pri Ložu.

For a visit, the main themes can be clearly distinguished: St George combines Romanesque and Baroque architectural history with pilgrimage and military history. The wells represent technical cultural heritage. Ulaka and Gradišče, on the other hand, lead to prehistoric and Late Antique remains. Archaeology

The hill of Ulaka lies above Stari Trg pri Ložu. Large defensive ramparts have been preserved on its northern and eastern sides. Ulaka was already inhabited in prehistoric times. Excavations uncovered house remains arranged in rows and a forge, indicating a developed blacksmithing tradition.

In the Gradišče area of Stari Trg, the remains have been classified as a fortified Late Roman rural estate or as a Late Antique fortified rural villa with a portico. A defensive rampart and remains of towers at three corners were excavated there.
