The Dunajská Streda Thermalpark covers 18 hectares and has four indoor and six outdoor pools. A slide tower with seven slides complements the facilities. From this starting point, the view leads to other places where activity, culture and local life become tangible.

Experiences

A cycling route from Dunajská Streda via Malé Dvorníky to Dunajský Klátov follows a cycle path and a forest road. The route therefore connects different surfaces and several named places, without being limited to a single area. For recreational sports, the public park in the Sever II residential area has a running track with a rubber surface.

Another sports facility is the artificial ice rink in Dunajská Streda. It is open to families with children, young people, schools and the general public. The explicitly named user groups thus range from joint activities with children and teenage visitors to school use and the general public.

The Thermalpark itself also offers various areas. In addition to the four indoor and six outdoor pools, there is a slide tower with its seven slides; the grounds cover a total of 18 hectares.

Culture

At the Žitnoostrovské Museum, the permanent exhibition includes prehistoric archaeological and paleontological finds from the Dunajská Streda district. The museum also features a traditional rural kitchen with traditional furnishings and an open stove. The exhibition pavilion provides rooms for creative workshops and demonstrations of the work of folk artists and craftspeople. The permanent exhibition brings together archaeological and paleontological finds and thus focuses on two scholarly approaches to the district’s past. The rural kitchen complements the collection with a folkloric space featuring traditional furnishings and an open stove.

The cultural sites extend beyond the museum rooms. Vermesova vila is now home to the gallery of contemporary Hungarian artists. Contemporary art is presented here alongside the museum’s prehistoric collection pieces and folkloric insights.

The Roman Catholic Church of St. George is considered the oldest historical and ecclesiastical monument in the city of Dunajská Streda. The traditional Žitnoostrovský Fair in Dunajská Streda includes numerous accompanying events and concerts. Both places and occasions broaden the cultural spectrum with sacred history and public festival culture.

Local life

In the Ružový háj residential area of Dunajská Streda, the market offers fruit, vegetables, eggs, honey and flowers from local producers. The range of products thus extends from fresh food to flowers, making the market a distinct destination within the city.

A holiday apartment in Dunajská Streda represents a separate accommodation option alongside the Thermalpark, museum, market and other city destinations. Information on location, living space and amenities relates to each individual listing; the city destinations remain distinguishable as independent cultural, recreational and market sites.
