Dubodiel lies at the northeastern foot of Považský Inovec and along the upper course of the Inovec stream.
Culture
The parish church of Dubodiel is dedicated to the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, the Eucharist. The church in Dubodiel is also mentioned in writing in the Urbarium of the Trenčín estate from 1623. Another special feature is the Lourdes Chapel: it was built in 1904, designed in the Neo-Gothic style and features Romanesque elements. The chapel is in good condition and serves its religious purpose.
The traditional costume of Dubodiel also preserves characteristic details. It was made from homespun hemp and linen fabric, woollen cloth and sheepskin, and is distinguished by its simplicity and originality. The tradition of the unchanged Dubodiel costume has survived in the village to this day; some older women wear it on feast days. Dubodiel was also known for the production of straw mats.
History
Local cultural life also includes a theatrical tradition. An amateur theatre was founded in Dubodiel in 1919. After 1923, it regularly staged performances, including during Carnival, Easter, the village feast and at Christmas. Behind Dubodiel are also the remains of a hillfort with ramparts. A memorial plaque for Archie M. Lafond is located at house no. 34 next to the municipal office of Dubodiel.
Nature
The local natural attractions include the Dubodielska kyselka mineral spring. It provides many visitors with tasty and unique mineral water. The spring has been enclosed and developed with a concrete structure. It can be reached from the Trenčianske Jastrabie–Dubodiel road via a dirt track over Zádvorie Hill.
Trails
The area around Dubodiel offers various opportunities for cycling tours on routes around Mount Inovec. The ascent from Dubodiel is one of the routes to the summit of Inovec. The trails over Inovec offer opportunities for observing nature and gathering mushrooms.
Several different routes are described for cycling. The challenging cycling route between Kálnica, Chata pod Inovcom and Dubodiel leads across meadows and forest tracks and offers beautiful views of the Považský Inovec mountain range. The blue cycling route descends along forest tracks above Dubodiel and ends at an intersection with the Cyklomagistrála Okolo Inovca.
There, check the exact location, type of accommodation and possible occupancy, as well as the included services and individual price components. Booking and cancellation conditions are also among the points that should be visible before making a decision. Pay attention to the wording of the individual offer and choose the accommodation according to the details stated there. In addition, you can check the occupancy stated in the offer and the included services again against the specific information. If there are several holiday apartments, the stated price components and cancellation conditions can be compared objectively.
