Mengusovce at the Foot of the High Tatras
At the foot of the High Tatras, Mengusovce lies at an elevation of 825 metres above sea level. The highest part of the cadastral area of Mengusovce lies at 1,040 metres above sea level. Mengusovce is also located in the protected zone of the High Tatras National Park. The surrounding area offers very beautiful views of the High and Low Tatras.
North of Mengusovce lies the Jelšina Nature Reserve, which protects natural stands. The Bôrik Nature Reserve is located southeast of Mengusovce. Hiking
There are opportunities for hiking in Mengusovce. The Kimbiark educational trail is 13 kilometres long and runs via Bôrik to the outskirts of Mengusovce near the cemetery. Culture
The Roman Catholic Church of Saint Thomas the Apostle in Mengusovce was remodelled in the Baroque style in the 18th century. The Evangelical church in Mengusovce is a Neoclassical building dating from 1840. Mengusovce also retains an early Gothic baptismal font from the 13th century. A painted wooden ceiling from the 18th century has also been preserved. Transport
A regular bus service operates via Mengusovce between Poprad, Svit, Vyšné Hágy and Štrbské Pleso, and back. The Lučivná Kúpele stop for passenger trains is 1.5 kilometres from Mengusovce.
