Culture

The manor house in Malacky was originally a Renaissance building and was constructed in 1624. Due to partial renovation in 2026, it is closed; reopening is expected in spring 2027.

The collection of the Michal Tillner Museum comprises more than 1,200 predominantly ethnographic objects. The museum also has a partially modernized exhibition on oil lamps and wall clocks.

Kostol Najsvätejšej Trojice is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Malacky and was built between 1574 and 1580 in the Renaissance style. A church in Malacky also contains an exact copy of the Holy Stairs.

The synagogue in Malacky was built in the Moorish style and preserves richly ornamented stucco, a bimah or Torah shrine, as well as a niche for storing Torah scrolls.

Sightseeing

About forty prominent members of the Pálffy family, Franciscans and wealthier residents of the town and its surroundings are buried in the crypts beneath the Franciscan church in Malacky. The crypts can be visited on weekdays after registering by phone or by email at least one day in advance and receiving confirmation; alternatively, a visit can be reported to the tourist information office during opening hours.

A guided tour of the synagogue is available by prior booking through the local art school; the visit should be announced at least one day in advance.

Park and Trails

Zámocký Park covers 30 hectares. It offers opportunities for walking, a new outdoor fitness centre, running paths and a football pitch. The park can be reached by bus and train. The walking opportunities, running paths and the sports facilities mentioned are all located within the same park complex.

The Duklianskych hrdinov–Na majeri cycle route begins at the entrance to Zámocký Park opposite Fytopharma. It runs along Duklianskych hrdinov Street past the hospital and via Rakárenská ulica. On the other side of the motorway, it continues to the Na majeri area.

Events

Malacky regularly hosts the Malacká hudobná jar music event in March.
