Kurganinsk offers tangible points of connection for discovering the city’s history—from a protected church and a distinctive museum building to a monument. Lakefront Dve Zari Beach offers a different focus. These cultural sites and waterside experiences can give your stay a variety of highlights.

Church, Museum and City History

The Church of the Ascension (Svyato-Voznesensky khram) is located at 3 Pervomaiskaya Street. It is recognised as a cultural heritage site of Krasnodar Krai and is under state protection. Kurganinsk’s Nika monument is dedicated to those who fell in the Russian Civil War and the Great Patriotic War—another tangible link to the city’s history.

The Kurganinsk Historical Museum opened in 1974; its collections include more than 29,000 exhibits. It is housed in a purpose-built, two-storey building with a glass roof. The building is considered one of the city centre’s architectural gems, making the architecture itself part of the museum’s subject. The permanent exhibition “Zhemchuzhina Kurganinskoy zemli” is dedicated to Klara Stepanovna.

The film arch is also part of Kurganinsk’s history: it adorned the city for several decades from 1950. It was restored in 2003 at the request of the district’s residents. The church, museum, monument and arch each offer a different perspective—from protected heritage and collections to architecture and memories of the city’s design.

Dve Zari Beach by the Lake

Dve Zari Beach lies on the shore of a lake and covers just under 16 hectares. At the regional tourism competition “Kurortny Olimp – 2023,” it came second in the “Luchshiy stepnoy plyazh” category. Facilities listed include a boat station, carousels, sports grounds, showers and a food court. Check what is currently available before visiting.

The 750-metre-long “V ritme prirody” ecological educational trail was created at the city beach. It introduces trees and plants that grow in the surrounding area. The trail’s opening was announced on 9 June 2026; check whether it is accessible before visiting. This brings the area’s plant life into focus alongside the beach.
