Culture

A bronze bust of Dimitrie Țichindeal stands in the churchyard of Becicherecu Mic. The Romanian Orthodox Church in Becicherecu Mic was completed and consecrated in 1909. It was completely renovated after 2010. A carved iconostasis is part of its furnishings. Carved furniture is also part of the interior, complemented by frescoes.

The church thus brings together several visible layers of the site's history: its completion and consecration in 1909 were followed by its complete renovation after 2010. The iconostasis, furniture and frescoes are among the details that shape the interior. In the churchyard, the bronze bust also points to Dimitrie Țichindeal and his connection with the parish of Becicherecu Mic.

The Dimitrie Țichindeal Museum opened in August 1987 in the building of the Serbian school in Becicherecu Mic. The museum's ethnographic hall has been open to visitors since 2016. It displays traditional costumes from all regions of the country. Textiles are also among the items presented there. They are joined by household and everyday objects used by local residents over time.

The ethnographic hall thus focuses on clothing, fabrics and objects from daily life. Traditional costumes from all regions of the country are displayed alongside textiles and household and everyday objects. This collection preserves both textile works and items used in the daily lives of local residents. The museum's location in the Serbian school building is part of the local history, as is its opening in August 1987.

Other areas of the museum display reproductions of documents and illustrations relating to the period in which Dimitrie Țichindeal lived. Photocopies of works by Gheorghe Șincai, I. Budai-Deleanu and Samuil Micu Klein are also on display. Pages from “Fabule” are also part of the exhibition. The collection additionally includes photocopies of official documents from 1815. These documents were used to ban Dimitrie Țichindeal's work “Fabule și moralnice învățături”.

The museum therefore brings together a person's lifetime, literary works and official documents. The illustrations relate to the period in which Dimitrie Țichindeal lived, while the photocopies make further names and writings from that era visible. The pages from “Fabule” and the official documents from 1815 also lead to the documented ban on “Fabule și moralnice învățături”.
