Culture and History

In the heart of Mediaş is the Biserica Evanghelică Sfânta Margareta. Its history is uninterrupted. It begins in the 13th century.

The Casa Memorială „Stephan Ludwig Roth“ is a neoclassical house. Stephan Ludwig Roth lived in this house. He was a Transylvanian historian, thinker and revolutionary.

The Muzeul Gazelor Naturale houses an exhibition area covering the country’s entire gas industry. It is the only museum in Romania with such an exhibition area. The area is dedicated to Romania’s entire gas industry. The museum is located in the middle of a nature park.

Activities

The Mediaş Bike Marathon is an established sporting tradition in Mediaş. The Mediaş Bike Marathon is likewise an established sporting tradition among cycling enthusiasts from all over Romania.

Eight routes were planned for the 2026 edition. The routes were intended for different age groups. They were also intended for different levels of experience. The listed distances were 15 km, 18 km, 30 km and 35 km. In addition, 45 km, 60 km, 80 km and 100 km were planned. The route list therefore ranges from 15 km to 100 km and includes several clearly distinct distances. The division by age groups and levels of experience complements this complete selection of route lengths.

A separate competition was planned for children. It was called the “Kids Race”. A safe, age-appropriate setting was planned for this competition.
