Smida on Lake Beliș-Fântânele

Smida is located in the heart of Apuseni Nature Park and on the shore of Lake Beliș-Fântânele. The spectacular natural landscape makes the village an interesting destination for anyone who wants to combine nature experiences, water and physical activity during their holiday. At the same time, Smida is described as the municipality’s largest village in terms of area, with spacious surroundings and an isolated character. Natural surroundings and location by the lake

Its location in Apuseni Nature Park gives Smida a distinct landscape character. The village is situated not only in a protected natural area but also directly on Lake Beliș-Fântânele. On Lake Beliș-Fântânele, you can cover at least 13 km by kayak from the dam to the end of the lake near Smida. From 15 to 17 August 2019, the Smida Jazz Festival took place for the fourth time in the village of Smida, in the heart of Apuseni Nature Park—an international open-air festival for avant-garde jazz. The 2019 festival programme also included a cave excursion to Peștera Pepii. These historical programme items show a connection between music, landscape and discovery without presupposing that the festival will be repeated or that there is a current events programme.

Road DC 126 is important for geographical orientation: It connects Beliș, Dealu Botii and Smida.
