Câmpia Turzii lies on the right bank of the Arieș River, directly by the water. Câmpia Turzii is located along the DN15 (E60) road corridor, which provides a regional road connection.

Geographical setting

The Câmpia Turzii CFR railway station was built in 1881. It serves both passenger and freight traffic. The railway connection supplements the town’s location along the DN15 (E60) road corridor with another explicitly identified transport link. Both the railway and the regional road corridor are therefore central to the town’s transport history.

Culture

Conacul Paget is a historic monument dating from the 19th century and is now known as Palatul Copiilor. The LMI code of this building is CJ-II-m-B-07553.

Conacul Szentkereszty–Bethlen is a historic monument dating from the 18th century. After the Second World War, it was used as a school, more precisely as the “Ciclul II” primary school. Today, the building is an annex of Liceul Teoretic “Pavel Dan”. This annex contains a library and several classrooms.

The Reformed Calvinist Church dates from 1677 to 1680. It was partially altered in 1786. It received its tower in 1946. The Prima Școală Românească din Câmpia Turzii belongs to the city’s cultural heritage. These buildings and institutions thus bring together different historical periods and various forms of cultural heritage.

The Muzeul Etnografic al Văii Arieșului contains traditional costumes and woven textiles. The museum also includes numerous tools. These tools relate to textile production and to the processing of wool, hemp, and flax. The collection thus presents both finished textile works and the tools and materials used in the related production processes.

The Casa de Cultură “Ionel Floașiu” provides a setting for cultural and artistic production, promotion, and dissemination. Its areas include literature, theatre, and music. The range also encompasses dance, ballet, and visual art. Ethnography and folklore are likewise among the areas represented there. In addition to the performing arts, the cultural centre therefore covers literature, visual art, and ethnographic and folkloric subjects.

Further places to discover for yourself: Maia, Mărişel, Margau, Mihai Viteazu, Lunca Vişagului, Lungești, Negreni and Moldovenești.

Nature and leisure

The Complexul de Agrement “La Trei Lacuri” offers opportunities for sport and recreational fishing. Fishing takes place on three lakes stocked with species such as carp, crucian carp, chub, and perch. The fish species carp, crucian carp, chub, and perch are therefore specifically named for this body of water. The offering combines the number of lakes with an explicitly stated selection of fish species and two described forms of fishing.

The Complexul de Agrement “La Trei Lacuri” includes specially equipped piers. Parking spaces are also part of the complex. In addition, the facility has functioning toilets. These three components—piers, parking spaces, and toilets—are named as separate facilities of the complex.
