Discover Vărsătura: cycle path, churches and Lacu Sărat

A 2,285-metre cycle path runs through Vărsătura on the right-hand side of National Road DN 21 between Brăila and Slobozia. It crosses the village from the Brăila bypass to the roundabout at the entrance to the Lacu Sărat spa resort. The cycle path is integrated into a sidewalk. The route therefore runs both along the connection between the two cities and through the village to the spa resort. Before setting off, checking current information on the condition of the route is part of the usual preparations for a cycling trip.

History

Culture

The parish church of Vărsătura is dedicated to Saint Hierarch Nicholas and was built between 2008 and 2009. Biserica Albina and Biserica Mărtăceşti, both churches, are located in the vicinity of Vărsătura. Mănăstirea Lacul Sărat is a wooden church in the Maramureș style with a 24-metre-high bell tower. Mănăstirea Sf. Pantelimon serves the monks as a place of prayer and spiritual retreat, as well as a spiritual refuge for patients receiving treatment at the spa resort.
