County road DJ 106I runs from DN 1 via Cunța, Draşov, Şpring and Vingard to Ghirbom, and continues to DJ 107 near Berghin.
Culture and History
Vingard is home to a late Gothic church without a tower that, according to an inscription on the west portal, was built in 1461. The inscription names Johannes Gereb de Vingard as the church’s patron. The church also features valuable stonework on the south portal and the west façade. The Evangelical church in Vingard is listed in the cultural heritage register of Alba County under code AB-II-m-B-00391.
The wooden church “Cuvioasa Paraschiva” in Vingard dates from the 18th century and was extended in 1820. A virtual tour is also available for the church in Vingard. In Șpring, an ethnographic exhibition displays traditional rural furniture, including beds, cupboards, tables, chairs and chests of drawers.
In the wider regional surroundings of Șpring Commune lies the Mânăstirea Cergău Mic Monastery. The Măgura Rodului mountain, Dealul Pleşilor mountain, Biserica Sfinţii Arhangheli church, Biserica de Lemn Broşteni wooden church and Biserica Greco-Catolică Armeni Greek Catholic church are also located there.
Nature
Floodplains extend along the watercourse that runs through the four associated villages. The municipality’s area belongs to the zone of deciduous forests, where oaks, hornbeams, elms, limes and field maples grow.
The Dealul Draşovului hill lies in the immediate vicinity of Șpring Commune, as does the Dealul Bozului hill. The Măgura Rodului mountain and Dealul Pleşilor mountain are located in the wider regional surroundings.

“Sărbătoarea sașilor la Vingard!” is listed in Șpring municipality’s events calendar as a cultural event for August 2026. “Colindăm Comuna Şpring!” is listed in December as a traditional Christmas carol festival at the Șpring Cultural Centre.
The Târgul Turtelor in Drașov is listed in the municipality’s calendar for 29 August 2026. This market has a tradition of more than 100 years in Șpring municipality and takes place every year on 29 August.
