Brusno combines surroundings shaped by Drawsko Landscape Park with the history of a historic manor estate. The Karsina stream shapes the landscape, with the Bliska Struga river also contributing in places. The estate also includes a manor house, a garden and agricultural buildings. A tourist driving route also passes through Brusno, making the village part of a longer circuit.

Landscape and Nature in Brusno

Brusno lies within Drawsko Landscape Park. The waterways give the landscape different features: it is shaped by the Karsina stream, while the Bliska Struga contributes in places. A tree-lined avenue is also designated a natural monument. Alongside its history as a manor estate, Brusno therefore has a tangible connection to nature. If you would like landscape and nature to be at the heart of your choice of holiday destination, this combination may be a reason to consider Brusno more closely.

Manor House, Garden and Park

Since the 18th century, the manor estate in Brusno has included a manor house, a garden and a complex of agricultural buildings. The estate therefore cannot be described solely in terms of its manor house: it also included a garden and outbuildings. The manor house was altered in 1811. At that time, it was either rebuilt or reconstructed on older foundations and vaulted cellars.

The history of the park also dates back to the 19th century. The manor estate park was extended during this century. A palace park dating from the second half of the 19th century is listed under monument register number 1052. The manor park is also listed in the monument register of Drawsko Landscape Park under number 1052. A cemetery was established north of the manor complex in the 19th century.

Brusno on the Circuit

A paved road between Ogartowo and Kocury runs through the manor estate complex. This is distinct from the tourist driving route that passes through Brusno: it is 68 kilometres long and runs from Połczyn-Zdrój via Ogartowo, Popielewo, Brusno, Kocury, Czarne Wielkie, Czaplinek, Stare Drawsko and Kłuczewo, returning to Połczyn-Zdrój. Brusno is therefore one of the places on a circuit whose stated route includes several stops. If you consider the entire route, the sequence of places can help you plan your trip; the 68 kilometres refer to the driving route as a whole. For regional orientation, it is also worth distinguishing this route from bus line 5: a service between Połczyn-Zdrój, Popielewko, Popielewo, Brusno and Kocury was listed for this line. Unlike this service, the tourist driving route forms a circuit that returns to Połczyn-Zdrój. The two descriptions therefore refer to different connections through the region.

When looking for a holiday apartment, you can consider Brusno as a destination in its own right or as a stop on a longer trip.
