Forest and nature in the municipality

In the Sosny Taborskie nature reserve, a nature trail winds among the oldest, most beautiful and most distinctive trees. It is intended for walkers and cyclists, as well as adults and children. Those who want to explore the area on foot will find a different kind of nature experience here than on the circular cycling routes.

Another special natural feature is the Jezioro Długie nature reserve in Lake Długie. It protects a well-preserved population of the relict species quillwort. Sosny Taborskie and Jezioro Długie offer different points of interest: distinctive trees in one, and the protection of a rare relict species in the lake in the other. Both areas are in the municipality of Łukta.

Cycle routes by length and character

For a compact loop, cycle route No. 1 is the shortest of the circular routes described, at 10 km. It runs from Łukta via Woliny and Wynki and back to Łukta. Cycle route No. 2 is 15.5 km long and runs via Woliny, Wynki, Dąg, Plichta and Tabórz before ending back in Łukta. The stated distances help you choose a route by length; on their own, they do not indicate how long the ride will take.

The yellow cycle route runs via Komorowo, Pelnik, Łęguty, Grazymy and Wynki back to Łukta, and is 24.5 km long. Much of the route passes through forest. Along the way, it passes two developed bathing areas and crosses the Pasłęka River four times. This route therefore combines forest sections with notable stops by the water.

The green cycle route is 27.9 km long and runs via Dragolice, Florczaki, Nowaczyzna, Swojki, Żabi Róg, Gubity, Kozia Góra, Gucin and Kolonia Mostkowo back to Łukta. Much of the route offers scenic views; it also has several steep climbs and descents. Between Łukta and Żabi Róg, the connection follows only safe unpaved roads. When planning a day of cycling, you can weigh these route features against your own preference for climbs and unpaved roads.

The blue cycle route is 27.3 km long. Its loop runs via Molza, Dąg, Plichta, Tabórz, Niedźwiady, Białka Leśna, Florczaki Kolonia and Ramoty back to Łukta. It connects Łukta with the Sosny Taborskie and Jezioro Długie nature reserves. The route also passes a bathing area on Lake Gil and runs near a bathing area on Lake Marąg by Ramoty. The yellow, green and blue cycle routes thus offer different distances and their own distinctive route features.

A Gothic church with later furnishings

The church Kościół Matki Boskiej Częstochowskiej in Łukta dates from the early 15th century and is Gothic. It was built from red brick and fieldstone. The building includes a square Baroque tower with a wooden upper section; a weather vane bears the year 1816. Inside is a late Renaissance altar in the form of a cabinet altarpiece, or cabinet triptych. The combination of a Gothic church, a Baroque tower and a late Renaissance altar reveals a range of architectural and art-historical features.

Events throughout the year

Dni Rodziny is an outdoor event for families, aimed at residents and tourists. It is held annually in late May or early June. Dni Łukty takes place during the summer holidays and features a variety of events and concerts for residents and tourists each year. The Dożynki harvest festival takes place on the first weekend in September, after the school year has begun.
