Local history: monument and museums

Remains of the Tannenberg Monument have been preserved within the town limits of Olsztynek. The mausoleum was built between 1925 and 1927 and was dedicated to the Battle of Tannenberg, fought in August 1914. The event and the memorial structure therefore date from different periods.
