Gościniec: Cycling Routes, Nature and Remembrance

Gościniec lies on two green cycling routes and is connected to Polichno by a combined footpath and cycle path. Nearby, you’ll also find the Góra Miedzianka Nature Reserve and an attraction focused on mining history. This means you can tailor your stay to different interests: longer cycling trips, walks or a visit to the area around Góra Miedzianka.

Cycling routes of different lengths

A green cycling route runs for 11.5 kilometres from Chęciny through Polichno to Miedzianka, passing Gościniec along the way. Another route description gives the route from Chęciny via Plac Żeromskiego (Dolny Rynek), Skiby, Gościniec, Polichno and Charężów to Miedzianka. This sequence of places gives you a clear idea of the stops along the route.

Commemorations in September

Every September, the Municipality and Town of Chęciny holds commemorations at the Pomnik Lotników in Gościniec for the pilots, instructors and graduates of the gliding school who fought and died in the Second World War. The programme includes flying displays, performances by pupils from the school in Polichno and a memorial Mass for the fallen. The event connects Gościniec with the history of the gliding school and gives the place a distinct cultural dimension alongside its cycling and walking routes.
