The Sieniawa Forest District is home to a landscape protection area and the Lupa nature reserve. Common ivy, legally protected old oaks and fir trees grow there. The Husówka nature reserve near Sietesz is notable for its larch forest and the presence of the Southern Festoon butterfly. Hikes and bike rides by route length
When planning your day, it is worth keeping the stated route lengths in mind. The hiking trail from Przeworsk to Zarzecze passes through Maćkówka and Zalesie and is 18 kilometres long. The blue Dynów–Biała near Rzeszów hiking trail runs through the municipality of Jawornik Polski; it is 38 kilometres long, with a walking time of about 12 hours. Its length and estimated time make it a considerably more extensive option than the 18-kilometre hiking route. So choose not only by destination, but also by which route fits your travel plans.
Specific routes are also available for cycling: the Kańczuga–Lipnik–Manasterz cycle route is 22 kilometres long. The Hucisko Jawornickie–Jawornik Polski–Hadle Szklarskie cycle route is 20 kilometres long. When planning, you can choose between these two described routes, which have different starting points and destinations. A ski lift has also been installed in the hamlet of Dołki in the municipality of Jawornik Polski; those interested in winter sports will find this among the Powiat’s listed activities too.
Narrow-gauge railway and access
The Pogórzanin narrow-gauge railway runs for 46 kilometres from Przeworsk via Jawornik Polski to Dynów. Near Szklary, the route passes through a 602-metre-long railway tunnel. These two details give you a clear idea of the route and one of its notable structures, without equating the railway with any of the hiking or cycling routes. Powiat can be reached via the international E40 road, also known as national road 4, and the A4 motorway, which has two interchanges in the Powiat. When looking for a holiday rental, you can choose its location based on which of the places and experiences mentioned you would most like to include in your stay.
Churches, museums and historic sites
In Przeworsk, museum exhibitions are devoted to the history of the town and region, their traditions and material culture. The archaeological collection includes finds from the Neolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age and early Middle Ages. The town is also home to the 15th-century Gothic Bernardine church and monastery, as well as a preserved section of the complex’s fortification wall. The manor house in the Lubomirski family’s castle and park complex was built between 1799 and 1807 and is now used as a museum. The Pastewnik open-air museum combines historic wooden buildings with accommodation and dining facilities.
There are also distinctive cultural and historical attractions outside the town. The wooden All Saints’ Church in Siennów was built in 1676; its sacristy contains two well-preserved frescoes, and the church also has Baroque altars. In the 17th century, the church in Nowosielce served as a fortification and successfully repelled Tatar attacks. In Zarzecze, you will find the Dzieduszycki Palace, built between 1817 and 1819, and a Romantic Park with magnificent oaks. The oldest trees there are about 500 years old.
