Nature around Folusz and Magurski National Park
In Folusz, the park for recreation and ecological education named after Stanisław Zając, Senator of the Republic of Poland, lies on the left bank of the Kłopotnica stream. It borders Magurski National Park directly and is part of its buffer zone; its area is just under 2.5 hectares. The park is also home to the designated “Dolina Kłopotnicy” ecological education trail.
The marked circular walking trail in the park is about 2.5 kilometres long and takes approximately 40 minutes. It is particularly suitable for families with small children. This makes its duration quite different from the longer hiking options in the area: the green trail from Nowy Żmigród via Mrukowa to Folusz takes about four and a half hours to walk. Along the way, there are sweeping panoramas of the Magura Wątkowska range and the area around the Wisłok Valley. The yellow hiking trail from Mrukowa via Kotań to Krempna is listed as taking about five hours to walk.
Magurski National Park is located in Jasło County and provides a comprehensive system of nature protection. In 2026, the park is offering guided hikes through the Ciechani Valley, accompanied by a park employee, exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays from 20 June to 27 September. The weekends of 18–19 July, 22–23 August and 19–20 September are excluded. Registration by phone is required, with the date, name, telephone number and group size; groups are limited to 30 people.
Exploring cycling and hiking trails
The red-marked “Na styku kultur” cycle route is 52 kilometres long. It runs from Jasło via Dębowiec, Wola Dębowiecka, Załęże, Osiek Jasielski, Nowy Żmigród, Brzezowa, the Walik Hills, Jaworze, Dusznica, Świątkowa Wielka, Świątkowa Mała, Rozstajne, Grab and Ożenna to the state border. This distance and the sequence of places can help you factor the route into your travel plans without confusing it with the shorter hiking options in Folusz.
Walik Hill also offers a particular landscape view: from the summit, you can see the Ciężkowice Hills. If you prefer to plan your days around a marked hike, you can choose from trails with stated walking times; if you are interested in cycling, “Na styku kultur” is a separately described route. These differences can help you weigh up the focus of your trip and the right place for a holiday apartment.
Wooden churches and regional collections
Osiek Jasielski is home to a wooden church dating from the 14th century. Its features include polychrome decoration from 1840 and a stone baptismal font from the 16th century. In Pielgrzymka, a 19th-century wooden Orthodox church in the Byzantine style has a historic baptismal font dating from 1163. The two buildings differ both in their religious affiliation and in the features mentioned. The wooden parish church of St John the Baptist in Załęże was built in 1760.
In Jasło, the Regional Museum houses extensive collections of folk art and crafts related to Jasło and its surroundings. If you are interested in regional design and crafts, you can make a visit to the museum a cultural highlight; the churches and the museum each offer a different focus. The Magurski National Park Education and Museum Centre in Krempna has different opening hours depending on the season. From 1 November to 30 April, it is open Tuesday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. From 1 May to 31 October, opening hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday to Friday, and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Jasło is a subregional transport hub at the intersection of road and rail links. Major roads include National Roads 28, from Zator to Medyka, and 73, from Wiśniówka to Jasło. Rail connections run from Rzeszów to Jasło and from Stróże to Zagórz.
