Bełk has a specific cultural attraction in the form of the wooden Church of St. Mary Magdalene. The church was built in the 18th century on the site of an earlier wooden church and has been preserved to this day. You can rent a holiday apartment in Bełk. The church particularly appeals to visitors interested in sacred wooden architecture. The main tower and the wooden bell tower have characteristic onion-shaped cupolas or helmets, respectively. It can be reached from Road 925 between Orzesze and Rybnik by turning right.

Culture

The wooden church is described as being more than 250 years old and is surrounded by old trees and a group of 19th-century graves.

Bełk is documented in the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis under the form “aput Belconem”. The settlement was probably founded under German law around the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries.

East of Bełk, a copper forge was established next to the Bierawka. Copper was rolled into sheets, drawn into wire, and processed into tools and vessels; some of the production was exported. The operation ceased production around 1860.

Palowice-Dworek is located in the nearby area of Bełk.

An iron Kuna has been preserved on the church grounds. It was formerly used to restrain people who were punished or doing penance for minor offenses.

Hiking

One of three tourist routes in the Czerwionka-Leszczyny municipality leads directly through Bełk.

An iron, stock-like historical object known as a Kuna has been preserved on the church grounds; it was formerly used as an instrument of punishment.
