Finding your way along the nature trail

Along the “Źródełko Borgońka” nature trail, information boards provide guidance along the route. A special brochure supplements them; it is published by the Ustroń Forest District. The place name and the boards make the trail a destination for exploration in its own right, while the church and the Nature Lover’s House offer other points of interest.

Church history and places of remembrance

Construction of the present-day brick church in Hażlach began on 13 June 1904 and was completed in 1905. The church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle also preserves a Gothic bell bearing the date 1409. The dates refer to different things: 1904 and 1905 mark the start and completion of the present-day church, while 1409 is the date on the bell. Visitors interested in historical artefacts will therefore find both a specific construction date and an object bearing a much earlier date.

Another place of remembrance is on the Catholic cemetery on ul. Kościelna. A stone cross there commemorates the victims of the world war at the beginning of the 20th century. This monument adds a place of remembrance to the story of the church’s history. Nature Lover’s House: exhibitions and outdoor area

Hażlach’s tourist information office is located in the Nature Lover’s House at ul. Główna 2. There you can get brochures, leaflets and maps about nearby attractions and events. These materials provide a separate point of reference for finding your way around the area; at the same time, the building’s exhibitions offer another reason to include the Nature Lover’s House in your plans.

The exhibitions are located on the first floor and mezzanine. They make extensive use of multimedia. This gives them a different focus from the historical artefacts in the church and cemetery: here, the exhibitions and their multimedia presentation take centre stage. The grounds of the Nature Lover’s House also include a sensory garden, laid out in the north-western area. The indoor exhibitions and the garden on the grounds are two distinct aspects of this place.

An active option for children

The grounds of the Nature Lover’s House also feature a 37-metre-long pump track for children. The pump tracks there are closed circuits and can be ridden in both directions. This gives you a specific length and track layout to consider when planning an active day.
