History
The mill building in Borowy Młyn, which is still preserved today, was built at the end of the 19th century. The former mill complex also included the owner’s house at Borowy Młyn No. 3, which was likewise built at the end of the 19th century. The former Jesuiterhof estate in Borowy Młyn was granted to the Jesuits in the 17th century by Jan Krasiński, the starost of Sztum.
An obelisk in Borowy Młyn commemorates a former smithy and inn that formed the starting point of the settlement, which no longer exists today, in the 17th or 18th century. In addition, a foundry for cannonballs is said to have been located in Borowy Młyn during Stefan Batory’s wars with Moscow from 1579 to 1581.
