It was designed by Jan Zschernig and completed in 1791. Next to the church stands a two-storey fieldstone bell tower. The so-called “Bocianku” is part of the local culture of remembrance. A wooden cross was erected next to the stone known as “Bocianku”. In 1947, the village residents funded a chapel through donations, in which the so-called “Miracle Stone” was used as an altar. According to local tradition, in 1884 the figure of the Mother of God appeared on a stone in a meadow near Dolistowo, the so-called “Bocianku”, and three female residents of Dolistowo perceived it as an apparition. This tradition adds a religious and local perspective to the architectural character of the place.

Biebrza, Windmill and Routes Through the Landscape

Dolistowo Stare is also home to a Dutch windmill from the early 20th century. Together with the church and the religious memorial sites, this creates a varied cultural focus that can be combined well with an individual exploration of the area.
