Praszka offers several ways to combine local history and outdoor activities on a trip: the old-town street plan around the market square at Plac Grunwaldzki is very well preserved. There is also a museum with a regional focus and a cycle path along the route of a former narrow-gauge railway. When choosing where to stay, you can decide whether to focus on historic streetscapes, regional history or a cycle ride.

Old town and architectural history

The market square at Plac Grunwaldzki is the focal point of the well-preserved old-town street plan. If you are interested in how a place has developed, you can make this layout a theme in its own right when planning your trip, rather than treating Praszka merely as a starting point for a single activity. One of the town's notable buildings is the brick Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was built between 1872 and 1874 to a design by Anzelm Krysiński, consecrated in 1884, and extended between 1911 and 1913. These dates refer to its construction, consecration and extension, making its architectural history traceable across several stages.

The brick synagogue, built around 1836, is also part of the town's architectural history. The brick water tower dates from 1914. These two buildings offer different points of reference in time, while the street plan around the market square provides a spatial framework for exploring Praszka. If you want to focus on local history, you can explore both individual buildings and the layout of the historic town centre.

Regional history at the museum

The museum in Praszka has a regional focus. Its research covers the history and material heritage of the municipalities of Praszka, Gorzów Śląski, Rudniki and Radłów. The findings are presented in updated permanent and temporary exhibitions. This gives the museum's work a broader regional scope: its themes extend beyond the history of a single municipality to include the material heritage of the three other municipalities mentioned.

Historic narrow-gauge railway rolling stock is on display in the museum garden. It ran on the Praszka–Wieluń Wąskotorowa line until 1987. For visitors interested in transport and technology, this exhibit adds a tangible piece of railway history to the exhibitions. The museum also organises museum lessons as part of its cultural and educational work. If this aspect of the museum interests you, you can take it into account when exploring the museum.

Cycling along a former railway line

The 5 km Praszka–Aleksandrów cycle path follows the route of the former Wieluń narrow-gauge railway and has officially opened to the public. Its former use as a railway gives the route a distinct historical connection. If you would like to include cycling in your trip, the stated length is a useful guide for planning your day.

Along the path, there are three shelters with benches and bicycle racks. The facilities also include LED lights and photovoltaic panels. A cycling trip and local history can therefore be different focal points of a visit to Praszka: a route along a former railway line on the one hand, and historic buildings and regional museum themes on the other.

Swimming pool and trip planning

The indoor “Nemo” swimming pool is open from 7:30 to 21:30 Monday to Friday and from 14:00 to 20:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. If swimming is part of your plans, you can factor these times into your day. The opening hours differ between weekdays and weekends, so plan according to the day on which you would like to visit the pool.
