Kotowice already had a parish church in 1376; it burned down in 1832. Several decades later, a new church was built in 1902 at the request and through the efforts of the residents. The parish church of St. Martin in Kotowice is listed in the municipal register of monuments with the date 1911. The years mark different milestones: 1376 refers to the earlier parish church, 1832 to its destruction by fire, and 1902 to the later replacement building; 1911 is the date given in the monument register.
