Oborniki Śląskie: Trails, Landscape and Culture

Oborniki Śląskie can be explored along a variety of trails: the “Na Grzybek” nature and educational trail passes through city streets, the “Grzybek” forest park and the grounds of a former Evangelical cemetery. Trails of different lengths

“Na Grzybek” is 5 km long and includes nine stops with descriptions on information boards. The trail starts in the square in front of the railway station and initially follows the Red Trail. Choosing this trail means combining a set route with nature and educational stops and a change of scenery along the way.

“Grzybek” is a landscape and recreational park covering more than 100 hectares. Its landscape includes meadows and forests, as well as ravines, ponds and forest streams. Historic sites and culture

Pałac Schaubertów was built in 1864–1865 with an octagonal tower. It stands on the site of an earlier palace dating from the 17th century. The two dates refer to different phases of construction: the present palace was built in the 19th century, while a palace dating from the 17th century had previously stood on the site. This gives the building a specific historical connection without conflating the dates of the two buildings.

Park Syrena also reflects the history of the place: it contains historic buildings from the former 19th-century spa resort. The park is also home to a diverse collection of trees. These include larches that are considered natural monuments and are said to be among the largest in Lower Silesia. The combination of historic buildings and striking trees makes Syrena another point of interest for a stay where local history matters alongside trails and landscape.

The Obornicki Ośrodek Kultury offers a varied programme for audiences of all ages. The cultural centre includes the Mała Galeria Fotografii Kontrast and the Galeria Plastyczna. Kino Astra offers film series such as Astra dla Seniora, Astra dzieciom, Astra Kobiet, Dokument w Astrze and Klub Filmowy Astra. The names indicate the different series; visitors travelling with children may wish to look in particular for Astra dzieciom.
