The atonement cross was excavated and re-erected on March 28, 2009. Its total height is 180 cm, and its current dimensions are 58 × 150 cm.

To the left of the entrance, a stone atonement shrine is built into the church wall. It has a pointed arch and a raised cross and is made of conglomerate.

The atonement cross in Modliszów is presumably connected with an agreement from 1409 that was concluded after the killing of Mikołaj Dreylinga.
