Nowe’s preserved city walls are about 550 metres long. The walls and castle can therefore be considered together as subjects in the town’s history: the approximate length describes the fortifications as a whole, while the castle’s location shows its direct connection to the walls. The parish church and the Teutonic castle also date from around the same period in Nowe’s history. The church was built around the middle of the 14th century, and the castle after the town was founded during that period.
