The castle site of Chłapowo lies on the edge of a hill, bordering the meadows in the valley of the Moskawa. It is situated on the left bank of the Moskawa, 150 m east of its riverbed.

The castle site is very well preserved. It is a 7 m high truncated cone with a base diameter of 75 m and a diameter of 18 m across the upper surface. It is surrounded by a 5 m wide moat and an 8 m wide rampart up to 3.5 m high. The site is heavily overgrown.

Archaeology

The Chłapowo archaeological settlement, site 4, is protected both in the register of monuments and in the inventory of monuments. The Chłapowo cremation burial ground, site 2, dates from the Bronze Age.
