The Perdiksepad is a historic church path in De Lier that has existed for at least 750 years. In 2025, it was moved approximately 145 metres to the west and redesigned; two short sections of the original road paving were preserved. Together with the Kralingerpad, the Perdiksepad forms a walking loop of approximately 1.2 kilometres through the surroundings of De Lier.

The village skyline is dominated by the blunt tower of the Domkerk. The Domkerk is a late Gothic church that was probably built in the mid-15th century. Its tower can be climbed on Saturdays until 4:00 p.m. Museum De Timmerwerf also offers an in-depth look at the local history of craftsmanship: it is housed in a historic building where a carpentry workshop has operated continuously since 1642. The largely intact old workshop and centuries-old authentic tools in the attic are among the impressions preserved there.

Landscape, Birds and Water around De Lier

The Zeven Gaten nature area lies directly north of De Lier and borders Groeneveld, a cycle path and the Noord-Lierweg. Wet meadows, seven ditches and two strips of woodland define the landscape. Zeven Gaten is an important resting, feeding and breeding area for birds. The area is not accessible, but it can be viewed well from Groeneveld and from the cycle dike between the water reservoir and the Kromme Zweth. This makes it particularly suitable for nature observation without entering the protected area.

In De Lierhout Park, varied plantings and thematically designed landscape areas create a range of different impressions. Visitors can see an animal pasture, a playground and a football field there. The De Lee river also runs through the village centre; boats travel behind the houses, adding to the character of the water-dominated surroundings.
