The museum is also the official information centre for Bandkeramiek Zuid-Limburg. For active days, the “Wandelen en vertragen in Stein” hiking route leads through the Ur valley and the castle park, where the ruins of Stein are located on an island. The route passes through two different landscape areas: the Ur valley and the castle park.

A regular cultural event is ArcheoHotspot Stein. It takes place from March through December, on the third Saturday of every month from 10:00 to 12:00. In addition, the tradition of the Sint Martinusvuur in Stein is maintained in the 21st century. ArcheoHotspot is therefore a regular Saturday morning event during this season.
