Teuge combines the distinctive atmosphere of a village with aviation experiences and clearly visible traces of history. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Teuge, you will find plenty of opportunities here for varied days: the airport is located north of the village of Teuge in the municipality of Voorst and is used for training flights, skydiving and gliding.

Airfield experiences for curious explorers

Sightseeing flights over Teuge and its surroundings are offered from Vliegveld Teuge. Visitors can also take a seat in a highly realistic cockpit. At Vliegveld Teuge, Yellow Wings offers a Boeing 737 simulator experience from gate to gate. This allows you to experience the airfield from different perspectives – from views across the surrounding area to a detailed simulation in the cockpit.

The Nationaal Paracentrum Teuge is another specific experience on offer at the airfield and provides tandem jumps. The Teuge Airport Tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at aviation companies and clubs at and around the airfield. Visitors gain access to areas that are normally not readily accessible. Transport around the airfield is provided by a small passenger bus.

History in buildings and village scenery

Teuge’s past is reflected in several very different buildings. Fliegerhorst Teuge was built by the German occupiers during the Second World War. The complex was designed to resemble a small farming village, which helped camouflage the bunkers. Rehoboth in Teuge is a Rijksmonument, a listed national heritage site built in 1907 as a club and Sunday school building for the Dutch Reformed Church.

The former Christelijke Gereformeerde Kerk in Teuge also points to an earlier development: it began in 1836 with services held in a farmhouse. In 1851, the congregation built its own church in Teuge, which was used until 1968. Another striking building is Het Kleine Zand, a barn built entirely of wood, with boarded walls and a thatched half-hipped roof. Its unique wooden joints and high roof define its appearance.

Between a sightseeing flight and a path through the IJssel Valley

Teuge therefore offers various ways to shape your stay. You can choose the airfield as the starting point for a sightseeing flight, a tour or a simulator experience, and then visit historic buildings in the village. A Klompenpad is also directly accessible from Vliegveld Teuge, leading through the IJssel Valley around Teuge. Its approximate route retains its character as a guide for discovering the area on foot.

When choosing a holiday apartment in Teuge, you can tailor your priorities to these experiences: an interest in aviation leads to sightseeing flights, tandem jumps and guided tours, while the buildings and the path through the IJssel Valley offer other ways to discover the village. This leaves room to combine active pursuits with quieter explorations, without reducing Teuge to just one attraction.
