Strp’s Catholic Church of the Holy Redeemer has been documented since 1747. The local Croatian Catholic community continues to celebrate Spasovdan. Strp is also associated with a local language variety spoken by autochthonous Croats in the northwest of the Bay of Kotor. An underwater archaeological site in Strp has yielded finds dating from between the 4th and 7th centuries.
