Ljesevici: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Landscape

Lower Grbalj, including the route passing through Lješevići, is described as a landscape of green hills on the Adriatic Sea. A Grbalj road trip route leads from Nalježići and Sutvara onward to Lješevići and Bigova. In the broader regional context is Velika Gruda, a considerable double tumulus in the Grbalj Plain, which is approximately 26 metres wide and 6.30 metres high.

Culture

St Hariton Church is located in the cemetery above Lješevići. St Petka Church is situated immediately beside St Hariton Church in Lješevići. St Hariton Church is built of hewn stone and has a bell tower with one bell.

St George's Church has a walled churchyard with a rock formation and six old graves covered with rectangular stone slabs. The complex of St George's Church has a narrow gateway on both its eastern and western sides. St George's Church may date from the 18th century; its iconostasis was made in 1752.

The restoration work on St George's Church included the surrounding wall, access gates and paths, as well as the removal of vegetation and construction debris from the churchyard. During this work, the access road from the local road to Bigova and the area outside the wall of St George's Church were also repaired.

History

Lješevići is recorded as a settlement of Miholjski Zbor for the period from the first quarter of the 13th century to the middle of the 15th century. The years 1422, 1494 and 1553 are associated with Lješevići.
